Premier League squad: Tosin among six Nigerians eligible to represent Chelsea
Published: September 12, 2025
Chelsea have submitted their squad for the first half of the 2025-2026 season to the Premier League following the conclusion of the summer transfer window, with six Nigeria-eligible players making the cut.
The Blues have compiled two separate lists, with a main squad of 19 players and an additional list reserved exclusively for U21 players and scholars, regardless of nationality.
For the 2025-2026 Premier League season, U21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2004.
Nigeria Football Federation target Tosin Adarabioyo headlines the Nigerian players named on Chelsea's roster.
The centre-back, who has made 102 Premier League appearances, has been listed as a homegrown player.
A homegrown means a player who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to The Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21).
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has supplemented his squad with 69 players classed as U21 players and scholars, five of whom are eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams.
Tyrique George (19) is joined on the list by Landon Emenalo (17), Chizaram Ezenwata (17), Richard Olise (21) and Tayo Subuloye (17).
Four of the five U21 players are on professional contracts, with Ezenwata's deal still awaiting official confirmation.
