Rohr Impressed By Young Talents That Sparkled Vs Atlético, Hints At Call-Up
Published: May 23, 2018
Speaking to reporters that attended the Super Eagles first workout on grass, including allnigeriasoccer.com, manager Gernot Rohr has revealed that he might have to do some training routine for some set of players who are returning from injury or did not get enough playing time at their respective clubs this past season.
The likes of Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City), Tyronne Ebuehi (ADO Den Haag), Leon Balogun (Mainz) and Joel Obi (Torino) fall under the category of players.
The German football tactician was really impressed with the turnout at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium for Tuesday evening's friendly between the Super Eagles and Europa League winners Atletico Madrid and praised the Uyo fans, saying he didn't expect the support from the fans.
Asked if he would consider some players that impressed against the La Liga outfit in future national team matches, Rohr said he has taken notice of the very young talents in the Super Eagles B.
Rohr also said that that was the first time he was in Uyo and wasn't on the bench performing coaching duties, and was not feeling the pressure and the emotions and it was a nice experience for him.
The World Cup-bound Super Eagles will workout in the gym this evening.
