Fatigued Ighalo & Troost-Ekong With 'Minor Hamstring Pain' Sit Out Super Eagles Training
Published: May 25, 2018Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that two players heading to the World Cup with the Nigerian national team did not take part in full training on Friday morning due to minor niggles.
Bursaspor star William Troost-Ekong and Changchun Yatai frontman Odion Ighalo complained of discomfort after the jogging and stretching sessions and watched the practice game from the sidelines.
The initial information is that the former Tottenham Hotspur youth-teamer is suffering from a minor hamstring pain but there is nothing to worry about as the central defender is expected to resume full training in a matter of days if not tomorrow.
As for Ighalo, he complained to manager Gernot Rohr that he was fatigued, bearing it in mind the long flight time from Beijing to London, from where he took a flight to Lagos then Uyo.
Rohr had no choice but to approve his request as the attacker has gone the distance in all the eleven matches contested by Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League this term.
Friday morning's training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium ended at 1210 hours.
