History-Chasing Uzoho : I Am Ready For World Cup, Akpeyi, Ezenwa, Ajiboye Good GKs
Published: May 26, 2018
Deportivo de La Coruña starlet Francis Uzoho says he has learnt from his mistakes in previous matches he played for the Nigerian national team and is prepared to be the first-choice goalkeeper at the World Cup if called upon by the coaching staff.
Uzoho is in almost everybody's list to be in goal when the Super Eagles start their campaign against Croatia on June 16, but he believes Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi and the goalkeeper last in the pecking order, Dele Ajiboye, are equally good.
''I learnt a lot of things from my first games with the team. I made some mistakes and I've learnt from them so I believe I am ready for the big one - the tournament,'' said Uzoho at Friday's media parley.
''The goalkeepers are all good. Nigerians should just have more confidence in us.''

Uzoho posted a shutout in his first two matches for the Super Eagles-against Argentina and Poland-but doubts emerged about his abilities after he conceded two goals against Serbia in London.
The former Golden Eaglets invitee will beat Vincent Enyeama's record as the youngest goalkeeper to play for Nigeria at the World Cup if he starts against Croatia on June 16.
