Benfica Newbie Ebuehi Suffers Injury Scare Ahead Of World Cup Opener
Published: June 13, 2018Benfica new signing Tyronne Ebuehi suffered an injury scare in the Super Eagles first workout on Tuesday evening.
The right-back immediately received medical attention after he suffered a nose bleed, and the good news is that the minor ailment will not keep him on the sidelines ahead of Nigeria's World Cup opener against Croatia, according to manager Gernot Rohr.
Ebuehi was among the four defenders in the team that contained majority of the players expected to start on Saturday.
"He's fit and there are no injury problems in the team," Rohr told reporters at Wednesday morning's press conference before the start of training.
The Dutch-born defender made his international debut for the Super Eagles in a friendly against Togo last June and will become cap-tied to the three-time African champions if he gets playing time at the World Cup.
