UEFA Champions League Qualifiers: Six Nigerian Players Feature, One On The Bench

Catch up on the performance of Nigerian players and their teams in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, July 24.

Three Nigerians featured for Danish side Midtjylland in their 2-1 loss on the road against Astana.

Paul Onuachu and summer signing Ayo Okosun started at Astana Arena. The former Dream Team VI striker went the distance while Okosun was replaced by Onyeka Frank on 68 minutes.

Elsewhere, Malmo number 20, Innocent Bonke, was an unused substitute in his side's 1-0 victory against Romanian side CFR Cluj at Stadionul Dr. Constantin Rădulescu.

Over to the Stadion Maksimir (Zagreb), Israeli champions Hapoel Beer Sheva have a mountain to climb in the return leg following their embarrassing 5-0 loss to Dinamo.

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu put in a full shift for the Camels and he was later joined on the pitch by Anthony Nwakaeme in the 54th minute.

In Greece, Switzerland youth international Noah Okafor was not in Basel's 18 against PAOK. The Super League side beat their visitors 2-1.

Finally in the Polish capital, Marvin Egho started and played 90 minutes for his Slovakian club in their impressive 2-0 win at Legia Warsaw. The striker was substituted in injury time.
