Chelsea Loanee Ugbo Targets More Goals After Opening Account For Scunthorpe United
Published: September 17, 2018
Nigerian striker Ike Ugbo is targeting more goals after opening his 2018-2019 account in Scunthorpe United's 3-2 victory away at Wimbledon on Saturday.
The 19-year-old has netted 61 goals in 96 appearances for Chelsea youth teams in the last four years but has struggled to replicate that form at senior level, with only four professional goals to his name.
''It’s always great to be able to go over and celebrate in front of the supporters,'' Ugbo told iFollowIron.
''I think it’s important to appreciate the travelling fans that make such a long journey when they come here to support us.
''It’s a really good feeling to be able to score for the team. Now I hope that I can build on that, push on and hopefully get some more goals to help the team.''
