Iwobi Lagging Behind Lacazette, Cech & Torreira In Arsenal Player Of The Month Poll
Published: October 04, 2018Alex Iwobi is among four players nominated for Arsenal's Player of the Month award for September 2018.
The Nigeria international is in the running for the award alongside Alexandre Lacazette, Petr Cech and summer signing Lucas Torreira.
Last month, Iwobi featured in four matches from a possible six, missing the games against Cardiff City and Newcastle United only because of injury.
He came off the bench to make a big impact as the Gunners left it late to beat Watford 2-0, having been involved in the buildup to the two goals.
Though the Hale End Academy product was not on the score-sheet in September, he provided the assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's opener against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League.
As at the time of this report, 11 percent of Arsenal fans supported Iwobi winning the award, and the winger is lagging behind Lacazette (61 percent), Cech (15 percent) and Torreira (14 percent) in the poll.
