Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was not in the Changchun Yatai side for their Chinese Super League clash at Beijing Guoan on Sunday, October 21 despite the fact he is in good condition.
Ighalo has accumulated four bookings which ruled him out the game at the Workers' Stadium (Beijing).
The Nigeria international received his first caution against Shanghai Greenland Shenhua on the opening day of the season, before he was yellow carded against Guangzhou R&F (March 31) and Guizhou Zhicheng (April 21) .
Ighalo reached the threshold and triggered an automatic one-game suspension when he was booked in the 90th minute in his final match before reporting for international duty this month.
In his absence, Changchun Yatai could only score one goal through Li Zhang in the 45th minute and they were denied a win right at the death after Jonathan Soriano converted a spot kick.
In 2018, Odion Ighalo has scored 26 goals in 35 matches for club and country.
