Liverpool Loanee Sheyi Ojo Opens Goalscoring Account For Reims
Published: November 01, 2018
Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo opened his goalscoring account for Reims in their loss to Orléans in the third round of the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday evening at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II.
Sixty two minutes into the contest, Jordan Tell gave the visitors the lead but the Nigerian winger restored parity to send the game to penalties.
Ojo pounced on a defensive mix up and blasted in from six meters with two minutes remaining.
Although the Nigerian successfully converted his spot kick, the fourth taken by Reims, it was Orléans who won the shootout 3-2.
Ojo's previous goals since turning professional were in the EFL Championship, EFL Cup and Emirates FA Cup.
Overall, the 21-year-old has scored nine goals in 75 official games.
With Reims exiting the Cup, he will now turn his attention to Saturday's league match with Monaco.
