Genova Young Star Chooses To Represent Nigeria Over Spain
Published: December 25, 2018Genova FC right back Isaac Lolade Kehinde has revealed that he has pledged his international future to Nigeria ahead of Spain and will accept an invitation to train with the Golden Eaglets ahead of the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations.
Born in Osogbo to Nigerian parents fifteen years ago, he has been living in Spain since he was a toddler but he's more drawn to his country of birth.
''I was born in Osogbo and I can represent Spain or Nigeria. My father is from Oyo and my mother from Osun State,'' Kehinde told allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I have chosen to represent Nigeria because all my family is Nigerian and I am also Nigerian, and for me it is more important the country where I was born than the country where I live.''
Asked about the qualities he would bring to the Golden Eaglets if invited, Kehinde said : ''I can defend very well, I am strong and can run very fast. I am good in dribbling, can initiate attacks and can use both feet. I can also play as a right midfielder.
''I'd say I model my game after Brian Idowu. My favorite Super Eagles players are Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, Obi Mikel and Victor Moses.''
Isaac Kehinde previously wore the jerseys of the youth teams of Penya Arrabal, San Francisco and Son Oliva before he was snapped up by Genova in 2018.
