Iwobi Named In Arsenal Squad; Saka Doubtful To Face Manchester City
Published: February 03, 2019
Alex Iwobi is in contention to make his 22nd appearance in the Premier League when Arsenal face Manchester City in the headline clash of the weekend on Sunday evening.
Manchester Evening News has published photographs of the Arsenal players arriving for the match in Manchester, with the Nigeria international part of the traveling party.
Though it is a foregone conclusion that the Hale End Academy product will be named in the 18-man squad against the Citizens, it remains to be seen whether he'll be in the starting line-up as new signing from Barcelona Denis Suarez and German playmaker Mesut Ozil are part of the group.
Last season, Iwobi started in a 3-1 away loss to Pep Guardiola's side and was a non-playing sub in the reverse fixture at the Emirates.
Meanwhile, the availability of England U19 star Bukayo Saka is questionable as the winger was not pictured with the first-teamers upon their arrival in Manchester.
The 17-year-old left winger last featured for the Arsenal teams more than two weeks ago in an FA Youth Cup clash vs Tottenham Hotspur.
