Jordan Aina, Uwakwe, Anjorin Absent As Chelsea Advance To UYL Last Sixteen
Published: February 20, 2019
Nigerian midfielders Tariq Uwakwe and Faustino Anjorin were not listed for Chelsea as the two-time champions advanced to the UEFA Youth League last sixteen following their 3-1 win against Monaco at Cobham on Tuesday evening.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com last week, it was known from the word go that England U18 international Anjorin would not be available for selection as he's recovering from a back injury.
Uwakwe has had his own injury problems but was omitted from the matchday squad against the French opponents despite returning to action around two weeks ago.
The out-of-favour England youth international put in a man of the match display as the Young Blues thrashed
IF Elfsborg in the second round second leg, scoring one goal and providing two assists in a 6-0 win.

Ola Aina's sibling, Jordan, has been getting games for Chelsea U18s recently, but will have to wait for his debut in the UEFA Youth League as he was left out of the squad vs Monaco.
Charlie Brown (2) and Conor Gallagher struck for Chelsea while Thuram-Ulien netted a late consolation goal for Monaco.
