Mouscron Star Urges Club To Offer Awoniyi 20-Year Deal, Labelled 'In-form' By Liverpool
Published: February 25, 2019
Kosovo international Mergim Vojvoda has sensationally revealed Taiwo Awoniyi should be offered a 20-year contract by Belgian First Division A team Royal Excel Mouscron.
Mouscron have won all the six matches Awoniyi has been involved in since he returned to the club last month, with the Liverpool loanee directly contributing to 7 goals (5 goals, 2 assists).
''He should stay with Mouscron all his life, we have to offer him a 20-year contract,'' Vojvoda told L'Avenir.
''He is an excellent player with great qualities, I think he didn't succeed at KAA Gent because he got a role in which he always stood in the 18, Taiwo is an attacker who uses his pace and chases the ball everywhere''.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have taken note of Awoniyi's recent run of good form for Mouscron in their weekly review of players out on loan.
The Anfield club wrote on their official website Monday afternoon : ''In-form Awoniyi notched a 52nd-minute winner for Royal Excel Mouscron in their tie with Lokeren, his fifth goal in six appearances since returning to the Belgian club.''
Awoniyi, 21, has also spent time on loan at NEC Nijmegen and FSV Frankfurt due to difficulties in obtaining a work permit in England.
