Arsenal U18s Thrash Reading 8-0 With Nigeria-Eligible Strikes Scoring Four Goals
Published: April 06, 2019Arsenal tightened their grip of the top spot in the U-18 Premier League Southern section after recording their second 8-0 victory within a week, now over Reading at the Hogwood Park Training Ground on Saturday morning.
The striker opened scoring in the 28 minute, added another one six minutes later off a Zak Swanson's assist before netting a hat trick five minutes from the break to hand Ken Gillard's boys a healthy lead.
He then grabbed his fourth in the 57th minute after Matthew Smith had set him up before he was replaced in the 71st minute.
Thus, Arsenal U18s have won their last eleven league games in succession, scoring 51 goals in the process and are odds on favourite to claim the section title ahead of Tottenham who they currently lead by seven points.
Defender Mazeed Ogungbo was a non-playing substitute for Arsenal while 17-year-old goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo trained with the senior team set up ahead of their clash with Everton in the Premier League.
