Cardiff City Make Move For Former West Ham Trialist Of Nigerian Descent
Published: May 06, 2019English Premier League side Cardiff City have made a move to sign the highly-rated Nigerian-born striker Ayomide Faniyan, allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed.
Ahead of a possible transfer to The Bluebirds, Faniyan trained with their U23 team last month and featured in Professional Development fixtures against Birmingham City (April 6) and Bolton Wanderers (April 15).
The 2000-born player will be hoping to earn a contract after getting on the scoresheet in the 3-2 win vs Bolton.
Earlier in the season, he trained with West Ham for more than two months but noting came out of it, as The Hammers chiefs felt he'll be blocking the pathway of promising youngster Amadou Diallo.
A quick and powerful striker, Faniyan has been searching for a new club since he mutually terminated his contract with Reading in September 2018.
Cardiff City were relegated from the Premier League on Saturday following their 3-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace.
