Southampton Keen On Two London-Born Young Stars of Nigerian Descent
Published: May 18, 2019
Southampton have placed England U20 World Cup-winning winger, Ademola Lookman on their radar in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
The Independent says Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has targeted Everton’s Ademola Lookman for a £20million summer transfer.
Lookman was tipped for big things when he joined Everton from Charlton Athletic in January 2017 but has struggled to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Toffees, making only seven starts in the Premier League across three seasons.
Lookman played under Hasenhuttl when he was on loan at RB Leipzig in 2018 and the Austrian manager is keen on reuniting with the London-born winger.
The England U21 international has two years to run on his contract with Everton and it is thought he would not be as expensive as last summer when RB Leipzig attempted to sign him permanently.
Southampton are also dreaming of signing Charlton Athletic young star Joe Aribo but it will not be an easy task as the midfielder has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Celtic, Rangers and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Aribo, 22, will become a free agent at the end of the 2018-2019 season.
