35-Goal Nigerian Striker Turns Down New Man Utd Deal Amid Interest From Newcastle, Burnley, Bayern
Published: July 12, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported last month that Nigerian wonderkid Mipo Odubeko has rejected extending his stay at Premier League side Manchester United.
The Irish-born striker would have been in Austria with United's U18 squad for pre-season training but bid farewell to the club last month after he ran out of contract .
Odubeko was offered a two-year scholarship but has decided to move onto pastures new to improve his chances of playing first-team football.
The Daily Mail says several clubs across the continent are interested in signing the highly-rated teenager.
Bayern Munich, Feyenoord and Genoa are keen on Odubeko while Premier League teams Newcastle United and Burnley have also been credited with an interest.
He plundered 35 goals for Manchester United's youth teams last season and netted on his debut in the U18 Premier League against Blackburn Rovers in February 2019.
Odubeko played briefly for Manchester City prior to his move to The Red Devils in 2016.
