Everton Offered The Chance To Sign Chelsea Central Defender On Loan
Published: August 07, 2019Everton have been given an opportunity to sign Nigeria-eligible defender Fikayo Tomori before the close of the transfer window, according to reports.
The Times says The Blues are refusing to sell Kurt Zouma and offered the Toffees a chance to sign Tomori on loan for the whole of the 2019-2020 season.
The England U21 international is believed to be in fifth position in Frank Lampard's pecking order of central defenders, behind Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Zouma and Christensen.
Chelsea want to loan out Tomori again so he would get Premier League exposure after loan spells at Championship clubs Brighton & Hove, Hull City and Derby County.
The 21-year-old shone under Lampard last season, playing 55 games in all competitions and helped the Rams reach the Championship playoff final, where they lost to Aston Villa.
Since joining Chelsea in 2005, Tomori has made only one Premier League appearance for the club and it was against Leicester City in May 2016.
