Arsenal Coach Hails Saka After Teenager Announces His Arrival To The World
Published: September 19, 2019
Arsenal coach Unai Emery had nothing but praise for Bukayo Saka following his man of the match performance in his side's 3-0 rout of Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League opener at the Commerzbank Arena on Thursday evening.
The teenage winger is well known to Nigerian and British fans but he used today's game to announce his arrival to the rest of the world, providing the assists for the goals scored by Joseph Willock and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and netted his maiden senior goal five minutes from time.
Despite playing only 64 minutes for Arsenal U23 team prior to the meeting with the Bundesliga side, Saka looked lively and caused havoc throughout the game.
On Saka, Emery told reporters post-match : ''Maybe with his goal and performance he was taking confidence, he was finishing really strong. Also with Emile, after his injury. He played for the first time this season.
''Willock started a little slow at the beginning but progressively he was feeling very better with a good performance.
''Torreira worked a lot, Xhaka played very seriously in that match. Everybody can be happy.''

Aged 18 years and 14 days, Saka is the youngest Arsenal player to score in a European competition since October 2008, when Aaron Ramsey (17years and 300 days) netted against Fenerbahce, according to OPTA.
