Chelsea Guarantee Professional Contract For Ex-Nigeria U17 Invitee Adegoke
Published: November 21, 2019
Chelsea have guaranteed a professional contract for promising Nigerian goalkeeper Prince Adegoke, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.
This website previously reported that the Golden Eaglets invitee will certainly be among the new intake of Chelsea Academy scholars for the 2020-2021 season, having already penned a pre-scholarship agreement with the club which will be activated on July 1, 2020.
Adegoke will be a scholar for less than a year as a professional contract has been inserted into the new agreement with the Stamford Bridge outfit, stipulating that he will ink a two-year professional contract after celebrating his seventeenth birthday.
This shows he is one of the highly-regarded players in the Chelsea youth academy, with less than six teenagers offered scholarship and professional deals this month.
Adegoke's professional deal with Chelsea will start running after November 3, 2020.
It is believed that he is now ahead of Kelechi Chibueze in the pecking order of goalkeepers at the Chelsea Academy as he started ahead of the England youth international in the final of the Premier League U16 International Tournament on October 20 and was recently on the bench when Chelsea faced Tottenham Hotspur in the U18 Premier League.
