Arsenal who are unbeaten in their last two matches across all competitions welcome Manchester City to the Emirates Stadium in London on Sunday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Gunners first team players, under the tutelage of interim head coach Freddie Ljungberg, trained for the last time on Saturday at London Colney in St Albans ahead of the visit of the Premier League champions.

The Swedish coach promoted versatile Nigerian teenager Tobi Omole to first team training and the defensive-minded player was pictured wearing a blue bib during the workout.

The 19-year-old was among five players of Nigerian descent invited to train with the first team by Ljungberg ahead of Thursday's Europa League meeting with Standard Liege, the others being Bukayo Saka, Joseph Olowu, Tolaji Bola and Folarin Balogun, but was left out of the travel squad.

Originally a box-to-box midfielder, Omole was converted to a central defender when he joined Arsenal and he's also capable of slotting in at fullback.

Arsenal are facing a defensive crisis ahead of the match against Manchester City, with first choice fullbacks Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney not available for selection due to injuries while central defender Rob Holding is on the mend.
