Published: December 17, 2019
Rosenborg are in talks with their Danish counterparts FC Midtjylland over the permanent acquisition of Nigerian youngster Babajide David in the winter transfer market after he impressed whilst on loan with the Norwegian powerhouse in the 2019 season.
According to Cedric Mazet, who handles the affairs of Babajide, his client is also on the wishlist of other European clubs and a return to Midtjylland for the second half of the season has not been entirely ruled out.
"Babajide was on loan with Rosenborg, he still belongs to Midtjylland as his loan is finished. Everything is possible, '' said Mazet in an exclusive interview with allnigeriasoccer.com.
''Rosenborg are still in the race because they are pushing to sign him on a permanent deal but at the same time he has options in other countries like Belgium and Netherlands as well.''
The
23-year-old Babajide was one of Rosenborg's outstanding performers in the
Champions League qualifiers and Europa League, contributing to 5 goals (2
goals, 3 assists) in 11 appearances combined in both competitions.
''His season at Rosenborg was very good, he did well against big teams in the Champions League qualifiers and Europa League.
''FC Midtjylland may want to keep him as well. We are in talks, exploring all possibilities and in January we will decide what to do,'' Mazet concluded.
A product of FC Ebedei, David has enjoyed loan spells at Thisted, Jerv, FK Haugesund and Rosenborg since transferring to Midtjylland in 2014.
