Left-Back Bola Also Trained With Arsenal First Team Pre-Manchester United
Published: January 01, 2020Another Nigerian youngster trained with Arsenal's first team ahead of the big game against Manchester United on New Year's Day.
Our colleague Jeorge Bird has tweeted that Tolaji Bola was part of the final training session at London Colney on Tuesday, bringing the total number of Nigeria-eligible players head coach Mikel Arteta monitored at close quarters to at least three.
A potential debut is also on the cards for midfielder James Olayinka and striker Folarin Balogun, with both pictured training with the first team yesterday.
The three aforementioned players have been included in matchday squads for Cup competitions this season but none of them got minutes off the bench.
Bola was the nineteenth player named in the traveling party to the South Coast for the Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Boxing Day and was spotted in the stands during the defeat to Chelsea three days ago.
He was a member of England's squad to the 2016 European U17 Championship and also has caps for the Young Lions at U16 and U18 levels.
