Bayern Teen Sensation Zirkzee Labelled Talented But Arrogant By Former Youth Team Coach
Published: March 26, 2020
Bayern Munich teenage sensation Joshua Zirkzee has been labelled a talented but arrogant player by his former youth team coach at Rotterdam based Spartaan '20, Ricardo Willemse.
The Dutch-Nigeria striker spent three years (2010-2013) at Spartaan'20 under the tutelage of Willemse before moving to ADO Den Haag.
"I am not the founder, but I have certainly helped somewhere in his career," Willemse said to Voetbal Primeur.
He continued : " "Joshua had two faces. He was a very talented boy, but with a certain attitude that I didn't always like. I just thought: act normal.
"He was not annoying, but arrogant. Scoring and not celebrating, because he thought: that is quite normal for me. But off the field, he was a super fun and social boy, who was very nice with his teammates."
The 18-year-old Zirkzee has made inroads into Bayern Munich's first
team this season, making eight appearances in all competitions and has
been involved in four goals.
