Napoli Sporting Director Explains Why It Will Be Difficult To Sign Chelsea, Spurs Target Osimhen
Published: June 07, 2020Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli knows that it is going to be difficult to sign Victor Osimhen and three other players the Blues have been linked with in the summer, Real Madrid's Luka Jovic, Zenit St Petersburg's Sardar Azmoun and Gremio's Everton Soares.
Napoli's hope of signing the Nigeria international is under threat from Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as La Liga teams.
Giuntoli refused to confirm whether Napoli have agreed terms with Osimhen, whom he has labelled a very talented player.
The Naples club are in the market for a striker as they are resigned to losing their Polish star Arkadiusz Milik in the summer.
"Azmoun, Osimhen, Jovic? They are very talented, it is difficult to bring them to Napoli because they are very sought after. Everton? He is another very good footballer," said Giuntoli to Sky Sports Italia.
"Purchases from Italy or from abroad? I don't know we have to see what the situation of these players will be like in two months. We must calmly do the right steps."
The 21-year-old Osimhen is under contract with Lille until June 30, 2024.
