Official : Promising Defender Alese Returns To West Ham
Published: June 11, 2020
English League One club Accrington Stanley have confirmed their retained and released list following the cancellation of the 2019-2020 season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Stanley have informed through their official website that promising Nigeria-eligible defender Ajibola Alese has returned to his parent club, West Ham.
The England youth international joined Accrington Stanley on a season-long loan last September to enable him gain a taste of first team football.
Alese appeared in 15 matches across all competitions before the season was curtailed in March.
The 2001-born player signed his first professional contract with West Ham in July 2018, keeping him at the London club until the end of the 2020-2021 season.
He was a key member of the England side that also contained Bukayo Saka, Faustino Anjorin, Nathanael Ogbeta and Folarin Balogun that reached the semifinals of the 2018 U17 EURO.
Though Alese has yet to make his competitive debut for the Hammers, he has trained with the first team on multiple occasions.
