Manchester United were involved in two tune-up games on Friday, June 12 against Championship side West Bromwich Albion, with two Nigerians Odion Ighalo and Semi Ajayi featuring for their respective teams in the second of two friendlies at Old Trafford, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
In the first game, the Baggies beat a strong United lineup 2-1, a side which contained Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford but was bereft of Odion Ighalo.
The former Nigeria international did taste action for the Red Devils in the second game, facing off against Super Eagles defender Ajayi (see picture) and helping the team to a face-saving 3-1 win.
Andreas Pereira hit a brace for Ighalo's side in the victory while Tahith Chong came off the bench to score the third.
Last weekend, Ighalo netted a brace in an in-house 11-a-side training game for Manchester United and he also impressed yesterday to help his side to the win.
Manchester United are back in competitive action on Friday June, 19 when they tackle Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League game.
