It has come to light that Anglo-Nigerian winger Bukayo Saka was voted Arsenal's Player of the Month for February 2020, the first time he's receiving the award in his career.
The England U19 international was nominated for the monthly accolade alongside experienced first team stars Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Shkodran Mustafi and David Luiz.
Saka took to social media on Wednesday to announce he received the award and thanked the Gunners fans for voting him.
Writing on Instagram, the Hale End Academy product stated : "Just received my February player of the month trophy 🏆 Better late than never 🤷🏿♂️😃 Thanks to all the fans who voted ❤️".
Saka impressed playing as a makeshift left-back in February, starting four of the five matches played by Arsenal in all competitions and going the distance in three.
The 18-year-old provided assists in games against Newcastle, Olympiacos and Everton to help Arsenal register wins.
He is expected to be named in the matchday squad when Arsenal face Southampton in the Premier League this evening.
