Confirmed : Flying Eagles-Eligible Center Back Offered New Deal By Manchester City
Published: June 28, 2020
The official website of the English Premier League has confirmed that former champions Manchester City have offered a new deal to Flying Eagles-eligible central defender Camron Gbadebo ahead of next season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Signed from Leicester City in the January transfer window following a successful trial, Gbadebo was an unused substitute as the Citizens thrashed Reading 5-2 in the U18 Premier League Cup back in February.
Described as a composed, commanding and strong center back, he will be hoping to make his debut for City in the U18 Premier League next season, having racked up nine appearances in the division prior to switching to the Etihad Stadium.
Seven other Nigeria-eligible youngsters in Tosin Adarabioyo, Gavin Bazunu, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Felix Nmecha, Nathanael Ogbeta, Oluwatimilehin Sobowale and Samuel Edozie have been retained by Manchester City for the 2020-2021 season.
Adarabioyo is spending the whole of this season on loan at Blackburn Rovers; Bazunu, Dele-Bashiru, Nmecha and Ogbeta represent City's U23 team, while Edozie and Sobowale are classed as U18 players.
Nmecha and goalkeeper Bazunu have been training with Manchester City's first team since the restart but both players are yet to be picked by manager Pep Guardiola in his matchday 20.
