Confirmed : KAA Gent's Azango Returns To As Trencin After Two Seasons In Belgium
Published: July 19, 2020
Slovak Super Liga side AS Trencin have officially announced the signing of Nigerian winger Philip Azango on undisclosed terms.
The 23-year-old has returned to AS Trencin for a second spell after two seasons spent in Belgium with First Division A side KAA Gent.
Azango was unable to tie down a regular spot at KAA Gent, making only two appearances in all competitions across two seasons, and spent most of his time with their reserve team.
He is a product of Golden Boot Soccer Academy, famous for producing Super Eagles wingers Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu, as well as Vitesse Arnhem's Hilary Gong.
In his first spell with AS Trencin, Azango featured in 34 games, scored six goals and was in action for 2,340 minutes.
He will play under a new coach at AS Trencin, 46-year-old Stijn Vreven, who was appointed on Friday and last managed Belgium club Sporting Lokeren.
