Published: July 29, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that at least seven players of Nigerian descent trained with Arsenal U23s at London Colney on Tuesday, July 28.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo trained alongside defenders Daniel Oyegoke, Mazeed Ogungbo and Tolaji Bola, midfielder Miguel Azeez plus strikers Folarin Balogun and Ryan Alebiosu.
The seven players trained at the Arsenal Training Center under the orders of U23 boss Steve Bould.
Okonkwo wore the number 53 kit during the workout while Alebiosu, Balogun, Bola, Ogungbo, trained with the numbers 36, 38, 39 and 73 respectively.
With the exception of the goalkeeper, the aforementioned players were involved in some capacity with the Arsenal youth teams in the curtailed Academy season.
Okonkwo did not play at all last season due to a health issue and he's delighted to be back on the pitch after a long tough year.
