Former Liverpool Midfielder Adam Lallana Inherits Balogun's No. 14 Shirt At Brighton
Published: July 29, 2020
Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has completed a transfer to Brighton & Hove, penning a three-year deal until the end of the 2022-2023 season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The England international has been allocated the number 14 jersey by the Seagulls, left vacant after Leon Balogun departed the club as a free agent this month.
Balogun wore the number 14 kit throughout his two-year stay with Brighton, making 12 appearances in total.
The shirt number has also been used by Steve Sidwell, Iñigo Calderón, Guy Butters and Ian Chapman in the past.
Before Balogun joined Brighton & Hove, he'd previously suited up with the number 14 in the 2014-15 campaign, during his days with SV Darmstadt 98, while Lallana would be wearing it for the first time in his professional career next season.
The Nigeria international will play with the number 26 on the back of his shirt if he makes his Glasgow Rangers debut against Aberdeen this weekend.
