Leicester City Star Ndidi On Last Season's Performance, Super Eagles Inactivity
Published: September 08, 2020
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has revealed that his main priority is for Leicester City to do well instead of chasing personal glory.
The Foxes blew away their chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League post lockdown after finishing fifth in the Premier League standings and will be competing in the Europa League.
On a personal level, Ndidi once again ended the campaign as one of the top tacklers in the the English top-flight, with only Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka having a better record than the Nigeria national-teamer.
Assessing his performance last season, Ndidi told the Super Eagles media team : "I just want to play football, do my game and help the team.
"I don't really look up to it, the three points is more important for me than actually what I do, and all the personal credits. So if the team is doing well then it's fine for me."
The Super Eagles have been inactive since November 2019 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and Ndidi has acknowledged that he misses everyone associated with the national team.
"I can't wait for us to come back, I miss the players, miss the fans, miss the atmosphere in the stadium, I miss everyone in the team - the banter, the jokes and all, the coaches, the staff, everyone.
"The whole pandemic thing is making everyone stay far away from each other. Hopefully everything will be fine," the Super Eagles number 4 added.

Ndidi is in line to be called up to the national team this month ahead of international friendlies against Ivory Coast and Tunisia in Austria in October.
