Ex-Crystal Palace Chief Reveals Hodgson Faces Selection Headache After Eze's Signing
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan believes that manager Roy Hodgson is facing a selection headache ahead of his side's first competitive match of the new season against Southampton at Selhurst Park Stadium on Saturday.

Jordan has labelled Eberechi Eze 'an interesting signing' and wonders who will make way for the former Queens Park Rangers playmaker in the starting lineup.

The England U21 star is battling Jordan Ayew, who was crowned Palace Player of the Season for 2019-2020, England international Andros Townsend and the club's standout player Wilfried Zaha for one of the spots in attack.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Jordan said : "Eze is an interesting signing because you wonder who is going to make way for this player coming in because Wilfried Zaha is obviously the standout player at Crystal Palace for some time and there are rumours about him moving on.

"You've got Ayew playing fantastically well last season, you've got Adros Townsend in there so there's a plethora of talent, but not enough goals in that side.

"So I think this game is an interesting one because Southampton are a descent side, Danny Ings is a descent goalsscorer and scored against Palace last year when they beat us in a game when we came back from lockdown...."

On Tuesday, Eze was named in the Professional Footballers' Association Championship Team of the Year for the 2019-2020 season.
