Stoke City Loanee Etebo Finally Makes European Debut For Galatasaray
Published: September 24, 2020Stoke City loanee Oghenekaro Etebo has finally made his European debut, going the distance to help Galatasaray register a 2-0 win against Hajduk Split in a Europa League qualifier at the Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi Türk Telekom Stadyumu on Thursday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
In the second half of last season, the Nigeria international missed the chance to debut in the knockout round of the Europa League after he was left out of Getafe's squad list and was not in the squad when the competition resumed in August.
Looking to make a name for himself, Etebo saw two of his shots miss the target in the 30th and 56th minute.
Galatasaray opened the scoring through Belhanda in the 77th minute before Babel doubled the advantage in the 86th minute to put the home team in firm control of the contest.
Etebo was handed his full debut against the Croatian side having made his first appearance for the Lions off the bench against Basaksehir on September 20.
Galatasaray set up a playoff round clash with Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo's Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox following their win against Hadjuk Split.
