Luton Town, Ipswich Town Target Babalola Fires Concord Rangers Into FA Cup First Round
Published: October 24, 2020
National League South club Concord Rangers progressed to the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup after a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Chippenham Town in the fourth qualifying round on Saturday afternoon, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Young Nigerian striker Temi Babalola played a key role in the Beach Boys qualification for the first round of the FA Cup for only the second time in their history by opening the scoring.
Five minutes before half-time, the 19-year-old passed the ball into the net when the ball was put on a plate for him by Reynolds.
In the 68th minute, Stern equalised for Chippenham Town with a brilliant finish into the bottom corner before Danny Green bagged the winning goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
Babalola is attracting huge interest from Football League clubs with Luton Town and Ipswich Town the leading candidates for his signature at the moment.
Last month, he trained with Hatters U21s team and featured in a friendly against Vanarama National League South side Slough Town.
Ipswich Town have extensively scouted Babalola and are looking to invite him for trials but the player's schedule with Concord Rangers is clashing with the proposed date for the test.
