Augsburg's Uduokhai Named In German Bundesliga Team Of The Week
Published: December 17, 2020
Augsburg center back Felix Uduokhai has been named in the German Bundesliga Team of the Week by football statistics website Whoscored following his outstanding display in the latest round of matches in the division.
The former Germany U20 international helped goalkeeper Gikiewicz to post a shutout as Augsburg registered a 1-0 road win vs Arminia Bielefeld on Wednesday night.
Uduokhai's Augsburg teammate Jeffrey Gouweleeuw partnered the German-Nigerian in the center of defence in the ceremonial Best XI players.
With a rating of 8.0, the Augsburg number 19 was the second best rated defender named to the Team of the Week.
Of the 28 players in action at SchücoArena in Bielefeld, only Reece Oxford (7) won more aerial duels than Uduokhai (6).
He completed a game-high six clearances, made two dribbles, committed a joint game high three fouls, made one tackle, two interceptions and blocked two shots, and was accurate in 71.8 percent of his passes.
A target of the Nigeria Football Federation and manager Gernot Rohr, Uduokhai trained with Germany's senior team last month ahead of matches against Czech Republic, Ukraine and Spain.
