Serie A new boys Salernitana interested in signing Super Eagles striker Simy
Published: May 20, 2021By all indications, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo will play his last official match for Crotone when they face Fioretina in the Serie A on Saturday, May 22.
A couple of Italian top-flight clubs are ready to make a move for the Nigeria national teamer following Crotone's relegation to the Serie B.
Lazio and Sampdoria already have competition in the race to sign the lanky striker, with Sky Sport Italia reporting that newly-promoted Salernitana are also interested in Nigeria's all-time top scorer in the Serie A.
An unnamed English Championship club are also in the mix for the signature of the 29-year-old.
Simy's price tag has been set at between eight and ten million euros, a modest fee despite the current situation in European football due to the pandemic.
When the Super Eagle found the net in the last round of matches against Benevento, he became the second African player to score 20 goals in a single Serie A season after Samuel Eto'o in 2010-2011.
