Official : Stoke City's teenage Nigerian center-back completes move to Watford
Published: July 03, 2021
Through their official website, newly-promoted English Premier League club Watford have announced the thirteen academy players who have been offered scholarships for the 2021-2022 season.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported forty days ago that Watford have won the race for the signature of Stoke City center back Darrin Enahoro-Marcus, offering him a contract following a successful trial, and the Hornets have confirmed as much, stating that he will spend the next two seasons with the club on a development programme.
Born November 12, 2004, Enahoro has been described as a defender with an excellent physical stature and is good athletically over long distances, which makes him effective at protecting the space behind him.
He uses his arms well in duels and often comes out with the ball cleanly which allows him to initiate counter attacking moves or secure possession.
Upon signing the deal with Watford, Enahoro said to the club's official website : "It's been tough during lockdown so this is really good news and I'm so happy.
"I've been at Stoke and a change is what I needed and I think I can really improve here with these facilities and the coaches, and I can get to the next level."
Enahoro will be part of Watford U18s and U23s game programme and work towards gaining a professional contract at Vicarage Road in 2023.
