Ex-Chelsea striker targeted by Rohr now rated at N7.1b after outstanding season at Bournemouth
Published: July 03, 2021
Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke has seen his market value rise after an outstanding season at Bournemouth, who missed out on promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.
Solanke, a goal machine for the youth teams during his time at Chelsea, had his best season as a professional in terms of goal involvements with 26 (15 goals, 11 assists) in 40 Championship games.
An U20 World Cup winner with England in 2017 and officially the best player of the tournament staged in South Korea, Solanke is a player of interest to Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr.
His form has rebuilt his market value, with the center forward now valued at twelve million euros (approximately N7.1 billion) by Transfermarkt as at June 30, 2021, which is an increase of two million euros compared to his valuation on March 10.
Solanke's market value was a 'meager' 250,000 euros when he was handed his professional debut by ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho in October 2014.
The 23-year-old earned his first and only England cap in a pre-World Cup friendly against Brazil four years ago, meaning he can still switch to Nigeria.
Solanke is ranked the fourth most expensive player at Bournemouth, 10th in the Championship and 107th among all footballers playing as center forwards.
