Exciting wing-back Olise reacts after signing new contract with Chelsea
Published: July 08, 2021Anglo-Nigerian teenager Richard Olise has taken to social media to react after putting pen to paper on a new contract with European champions Chelsea.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported last month that Richard, the younger brother of in-demand Reading playmaker Michael Olise, had agreed two new deals with Chelsea - a scholarship and a professional contract.
The Premier League giants confirmed one of the two deals on Tuesday, announcing that Richard Olise is among their ten new scholars for 2021-2022.
Olise's current agreement with Chelsea ensures that he will remain at the Stamford Bridge outfit until at least June 30, 2023.
The versatile wing-back has gone one further than his brother, Michael Olise, who was not offered a scholarship by Chelsea prior to his move to the Manchester City academy.
Writing on Instagram, Richard Olise said : "Happy to sign a new contract".
Richard Olise will be hoping to emulate Nigerian trio Ola Aina, Faustino Anjorin and Eddie Newton who made their way through the youth system before making their first team debuts for Chelsea.
