Through their official website, League One club Charlton Athletic have announced the signing of Nigeria-eligible central defender Akin Famewo on a season-long loan from Norwich City.
The deal taking Famewo to the Addicks includes an option to buy him at the end of the 2021-2022 campaign.
He is returning to Charlton Athletic for a second spell, having spent the whole of last season at the Valley, making 22 appearances in all competitions.
London born Famewo, who is also comfortable playing as a left-back, began his career at Luton Town and joined Norwich City two years ago.
On his return to Charlton, he said : "I’m very pleased, I’m excited to get going. Just being back in the building you can tell there is a good energy, everyone is ready for the fresh start and to get going again".
Famewo has worn the colours of St Mirren and Grimsby Town on loan from Norwich City and Luton Town respectively.
He made his Premier League debut against Manchester City on the final day of the 2019-2020 season.
