Scottish giants Celtic set to sign another Nigerian youngster
Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Celtic are on the brink of announcing the signing of Nigeria-eligible midfielder Bosun Lawal.

According to The Athletic’s Watford correspondent Adam Leventhal via The Scotsman, Celtic have agreed a three-year deal with Lawal who has been compared to Everton star Abdoulaye Doucoure.

A Republic of Ireland U21 international, he was offered his first professional contract at Watford at the end of the 2020-2021 season but has turned down the offer in favour of a move to Celtic.

Lawal is set to become the second youngster of Nigerian descent signed by new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou this month after former Dream Team VII invitee Osaze Urhoghide who arrived from Sheffield Wednesday.

Officially, the Irish-Nigerian was regarded as the most outstanding player in the Watford academy in 2020-2021, having won the Academy Player of the Season award.

Before moving to Watford in the summer of 2019, Bosun played for Irish clubs Bohemian and  St Kevin's Boys.

Glasgow Celtic have in their youth team ranks Jonathan Afolabi and goalkeeper Tobi Olwayemi, who is the younger brother of Super Eagles invitee for the recent friendly vs Mexico, Joshua Oluwayemi.
