Published: July 23, 2021
Through their official website, Manchester United have announced their new intake of academy scholars for the 2021-2022 season.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported ten days ago that Maximilano Oyedele has signed a two-year scholarship with Manchester United and the Red Devils have confirmed as much, informing that he is one of eleven first-year scholars added to the U18 group.
Though he has been classed as a defender, the promising teenager is also comfortable playing as a central midfielder.
Oyedele already has three appearances to his name for Manchester United in the U18 Premier League, earned last season whilst still a schoolboy.
The 2004-born player made his competitive debut for the U18s against Derby County in February 2021, before two appearances as a substitute against Leeds United and Middlesbrough.
Oyedele is eligible to represent Manchester United in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League in 2021-2022.
He is also set to be included in Manchester United's Premier League squad as an U21 player (scholar).
