Brentford coach explains why Super Eagles star played for 30 minutes vs Man Utd
Brentford away fans got to see a bit of their new signing from FC Midtjylland, Frank Onyeka during the entertaining friendly against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Manager Thomas Frank introduced the Super Eagles star off the bench in the 61st minute as replacement for Haygarth - his first game in pre-season since transferring to the Bees.

Brentford boss explained that he played Onyeka  for only thirty minutes because he wants to gradually build up his fitness.

The central midfielder was not involved in any pre-season match at his last club Midtjylland before heading to the United Kingdom.

Speaking post-match to Brentford's official website, Thomas Frank said : "Brilliant, fantastic to see Frank getting some minutes.

"There's a reason why we only played him 30 minutes, because we wanted to build him, he got a little bit you know fragmented start because of pre-season in Midtjylland, and then quarantine and the transfer and all that.

"So we need to build him to get to the right fitness level but very nice to see him get thirty minutes".

Onyeka wore the number 39 at the back of his jersey when he stepped out onto the Old Trafford turf for his non-competitive debut.

The 23-year-old will be hoping to be get more minutes in Brentford's next pre-season game against West Ham United on Saturday, July 31.
