Leicester City still interested in signing Tottenham academy product of Nigerian descent
Published: August 19, 2021Leicester City still maintain an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur academy product of Nigerian descent Nonso Madueke, according to reports.
LeicestershireLive citing journalist Alan Nixon claims that the Foxes have been active on a deal for three to four weeks.
The PSV Eindhoven winger has picked up where he left off last season, scoring five goals and chipping in with one assist in seven matches across all competitions in the current campaign.
Leicester City have brought in Patson Daka, Boubakary Soumare, Ryan Bertrand and Jannik Vestergaard this summer and manager Brendan Rodgers has not ruled out the arrival of more reinforcements.
PSV could be tempted to sell Madueke if they fail to qualify for the Champions League group stage but Wednesday night's 2-1 loss to Benfica means they are in a good position to progress to the next round of the competition.
The 19-year-old is valued in the region of £20 - £30million by PSV, with whom he is contracted until June 30, 2024.
Crystal Palace, where he spent his formative years as a footballer, have also been credited with an interest in the England U21 international.
