Official : Wolves announce permanent departure of Super Eagles-eligible midfielder
Published: August 20, 2021Through their official website, English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the permanent departure of Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Owen Otasowie.
The American-born starlet of Nigerian descent has completed a permanent transfer to Club Brugge, signing a four-year deal with the current Belgian First Division A champions until the summer of 2025.
Otasowie joined Wolves in 2017 after he was spotted whilst playing for Mass Elite Academy in London at the age of 15.
The 20-year-old rose through the academy ranks before he was handed his first team debut by Nuno Espírito Santo in a Europa League group stage clash against Besiktas on December 12, 2019, coming off the bench to replace Leander Dendoncker in the 73rd minute.
He went on to make six appearances in the English Premier League, including matches against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, logging 185 minutes.
Otasowie has been capped at senior level by his country of birth United States after playing in a friendly against Wales in November 2020 but remains eligible to represent the Three Lions and Super Eagles.
