Juventus and Vitesse interested in 19yo Chelsea striker before loan move to Rosenborg
Published: March 07, 2022Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Italian Serie A giants Juventus and Dutch club SBV Vitesse showed interest in signing Norwegian-born Nigerian starlet Bryan Fiabema before the striker sealed a loan move to Rosenborg.
Fiabema had a taste of first team football prior to joining the European champions in 2020, making his senior debut for Tromso at the age of sixteen and was keen to build on his first team experience this season.
Vitesse expressed concrete interest in taking the 19-year-old on a season-long loan last summer but their approaches were rebuffed by the powers that be at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues, who have an excellent relationship with Vitesse, have been sending players on loan to the Eredivisie side since 2010 but no deals between the two clubs happened in 2021-2022.
Juventus were keeping tabs on Fiabema with a view to signing him on a permanent deal from Chelsea when the transfer window reopens in the summer but the Old Lady didn't table an offer before the attacker switched to Rosenborg on loan.
Fiabema wasn't interested in joining Juventus because he felt he would not walk into their first team straightaway and would have ended up playing for their youth teams just as was the case with him at Chelsea.
The highly-rated striker is expected to begin training with his new teammates at Rosenborg this week.
