Super Eagles hopeful Amoo suffers injury at FC Copenhagen training camp
Published: July 12, 2022Danish champions FC Copenhagen informed on Tuesday morning that Super Eagles hopeful Akinkunmi Amoo is out of action for the next while.
The talented winger was not involved in FC Copenhagen's two pre-season matches against Feyenoord and Club Brugge because he suffered an injury at FCK's training camp in the Netherlands.
The Sidos Academy product played 45 minutes of the pre-season match against Silkeborg on June 27 and is now undergoing rehabilitation with FC Copenhagen's medical team.
Signed from Allsvenskan side Hammarby in the winter transfer market, Amoo has had a nightmarish start to his career at FC Copenhagen, making just two appearances since he landed in Denmark.
The 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup star missed the back end of the 2021-2022 campaign due to injury and was left out of the Nigeria squad for their four games this summer having failed to recover from the ailment.
Amoo was initially included in a 10-man shortlist for CAF's Young Player of the Year but his name was omitted from the final list of nominees.
